Utter bullshit. You don't create success - you create the possibility of success. You still need someone else to like what you're doing to make the fire spread, and if it spreads to a whole lot of people then you can say you've had success that time out. As we often see, success is in the thing, not the person. This is why a person can be electrifyingly hot one day and stone cold the next. They have to continue to appeal to the audience or they will crash and burn.

The kernel of truth centers on the fact that while doing your part doesn’t guarantee success, not doing your part does guarantee failure.
