They say change is good. Well, I\u2019ve certainly been busy making changes both to the web site and the blog, and I\u2019m not finished yet. However, anyone who hasn\u2019t been by in a while will be in for a pleasant shock when they see what I\u2019ve accomplished so far.<\/span><\/div>\n

For starters, the web site \u2013 I streamlined it to keep it overall consistent. Now the various pages load in an inline frame that really simplifies adding new pages and such \u2013 I don\u2019t have to reinvent the wheel each time.<\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span><\/div>\n
Next, I added a \u201cReading Room\u201d box on the front page that shows some of the books I\u2019ve been reading with a little commentary describing a \u201cgut reaction\u201d to said books. While I could stick my fingers in my ears and pretend my own standard would suffice, I opted to read a lot of other people\u2019s work to get some idea of where I stood. Some of what I read was in line with my work (note the number of memoirs) and some was just for fun. There is never a bad book \u2013 there are just those that I didn\u2019t particularly care for because of one reason or another.<\/span><\/div>\n

Next are the new sections (more to come) that I think give more insight into my background; the who am I that I sometimes didn\u2019t feel comfortable with. Now that my story is so well focused, it seemed especially appropriate to include a letter from my parents to Roger and me. There\u2019s a lot of meaning in that letter, especially considering what happened very shortly after we got it.<\/span><\/div>\n

And the blog has changed, as well. Now known as The Oval Office I\u2019ve added a couple of features I hope will help spread the word and make my blog consistent with what typical bloggers will expect. I\u2019m new at such and have already discovered a glitch but it doesn\u2019t seem to be a problem.<\/span><\/div>\n

Anyway, I will continue posting about my journey to publication (though I hope to catch up with the categorizing) and will try to expand into other topics, too. In the meantime, enjoy and thank you for the support.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
