So if skies are clear, conditions are right for some excellent views of the red planet.<\/p>\n<p>While I did take some pics of Mars last night, the video was blown out so the planet looked like a blob of white. However, the moon was not far away so I took some stills and then switched the camera, a Nikon D5100, to movie mode and shot some video. I took the result into Pinnacle Studio to chop, and then imported that result into a program called Registax (http:\/\/www.astronomie.be\/registax\/).<\/p>\n<p>While the stills looked pretty good, the lower-resolution video (1920&#215;1080 FHD versus\u00a04928&#215;3264 NEF) stacked came out better, I think.
